Graduate Marketing Schemes
The umbrella term for the whole process of taking a product from inception to purchase, ‘marketing’ is a huge part of any business. As such, most companies have dedicated marketing teams that are always looking to expand and improve. However, a few stand out for their commitment to find the best pre and post grads.
Cosmetic giant L’Oreal is always on the lookout for promising students who ‘demonstrate leadership potential.’ Their internship programme and extensive recruitment searches visit unis across the country to seek out the stars of tomorrow.
Sky meanwhile offers graduates the chance to hone their marketing skills with their Commercial Graduate Programme. As Europe’s leading entertainment company, Sky provides a wealth of contacts and a great name for your CV.
Leading the pack however is Unilever who offer a host of graduate and undergraduate roles. Check out their 12 month Industrial Placement Programme which feeds directly into their Future Leaders initiative. With a starting salary of £30,000, it’s a fantastic first career step.
A vital sub sector of marketing, advertising is always on the lookout for potential future shapers. Just ask Publicis, one of the biggest ad networks in the world. Their three stage graduate scheme aims to find forward thinkers who are willing to ‘lead the change.’ Candidates receive world class training from leading experts and even have the chance to run their own ‘agency within an agency.’
Fellow advertising hot shots M&CSaatchi are putting more impetus on graduate recruitment than ever before. Their seven week programme teaches you all the skills you need to pursue a career in the industry with perks including travel loans, health schemes and gym memberships. Crucially, you can apply with or without a degree.
If you’re looking for something a little different, look no further than Engine’s Scheme. Successful candidates can create their own path within the company, following what inspires them. And with 13 agencies to choose from, the possibilities are endless. Well, nearly. They’re after graduates who are innovative, interesting, informed and, of course, a little bit different.
Public relations is all about building and maintaining good relationships, be that with media, clients or staff. As one of the biggest names in the game, Edelman offers a grad scheme like no other. Just check out their website. Giving candidates the chance to work with some of the world’s biggest brands, Edelman Beta provides guidance and inspiration in equal measure.
Chime, meanwhile, offers candidates an array of choice, allowing graduates to pick from one of nine agencies to work in. But as well as tailored training, you’ll also take part in group wide sessions and activities, helping to grow your network even further.
If it’s an internship you’re after then the Brunswick Group may be for you. Their interns operate internationally, liaising with colleagues from offices in 24 countries, to develop a flexible and powerful skillset. Brunswick pride themselves on an entrepreneurial culture so interns are encouraged to get stuck in with high- end clients and challenges.
