Strategy Senior Analyst / Analyst
The purpose of the role is to ensure the newly formed Strategy Team has enough resource to enable execution of its responsibilities in helping the organisation achieve its strategic goals. In particular the role will support the team in their aims to drive the modernisation at the company and provide a platform for profitable growth by delivering new and existing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support the Strategy leadership team in the delivery of their responsibilities, including supporting the creation of a long-term strategy.
- To provide support for creation of strategy materials by liaising closely with those conducting the forward-looking parts of the annual business planning process to ensure that there is a high degree of consistency between Organisation's forward-looking strategic plans and the strategic initiatives being considered. Providing coordination capabilities for increasing the level of capabilities the organisation have (for example coordinating with the capital modelling team in their efforts to build a portfolio level efficient frontier tool).
- Helping to establish the buildout of a research and development capability within the organisation that will look to identify new opportunities within the marketplace by researching different territories, markets, products and carrying out peer analysis.
- Support and in some cases own the delivery of strategic initiatives as directed by the core team management and steering team.
- Help manage the process for the portfolio management of initiatives that the Strategy team will work on.
Person Specification
Experience
- Experience of working within P&C insurance and reinsurance
- Lloyd's/London Market
- Strategic analysis and corporate development preferred
Qualifications
- Graduate (course with analytical/numerical content, e.g. economics, business, finance)
Desired Skills
- Strong project management skills
- Adaptable
- Creative thinking
- Understanding of the P&C (re)insurance market and in particular London market
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with clients and colleagues, and to exercise discretion and confidentiality in all matters
- Research capabilities
