TGDP is a structured programme that gives you the experience, knowledge and skills you need to be an effective technology professional in our pioneering IT department. Whether you join the Business or the Specialist stream, you will have the opportunity to rotate around the teams in your area to develop skills and experiences across the breadth of the capability.


To join, you will need a passion for technology and to have or be expecting a 2:2 in any degree subject.

If you have, or are studying for, an Arts or Humanities degree, your skills and experience may be more suited to the business roles within this programme. To join one of our specialist roles, ideally you will have, or be studying for, a STEM or a technical degree (computer science, forensics, cyber) with either a programming element or a focus on cyber security or IT Security.

To join as a Software Engineer you will need demonstrable experience of programming. For the Cyber roles you will need to have some knowledge of networking, operating systems, IT security principles and also programming.
