Graduate Mechatronics Engineer to work closely with existing Control Engineer to design and develop electronic and electrical Siemens drive systems for production equipment.
With experience of working in a manufacturing environment, the Mechatronics Engineer will provide electronics design of bespoke drive and motion control systems using Siemens Step 7. Products are heavy and complex industrial pieces, which will be rolled out across factories globally once UK operations are running smoothly.
With a minimum of a 2.i or higher in a mechatronics masters degree discipline or similar (engineering / physics / robotics / electronics) you will be required to:
* Design, develop and implement S7 on new equipment from scratch
* HMI
* Systems integration
* Work with existing control engineer and technicians, ensuring successful configuration and systems integration
* Develop using VB / C / C++ or similar structured text language
With strong emphasis on robotics and mechatronics, the Graduate engineer will have the opportunity to work with:
* Motion control
* Motor Drives
* Automation
* HMI and PLC software
* PID control
* Control Loops
* Matlab / Simulink
* Install and commissioning
Working within a manufacturing environment the mechatronics engineer will produce industrial control systems, motor drives and sensors and associated control software interfacing with the electronics hardware. Therefore, this role will offer a great blend of practical, academic and R&D work.
