We want midwives to love working with us, and for the families we serve. We want YOU to be here, shaping our vision for an outstanding service that gives women, families, our community and our midwives an extraordinary experience.
Whipps Cross Hospital is part of Barts Health NHS Trust, which has a worldwide reputation for innovation in the care of expectant mothers and their families. As the largest trust in the UK we provide care for families from very diverse backgrounds.
You will join a warm, supportive team of midwives who truly care about women’s experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. We value your experience working alongside us and acknowledge that fulfilled midwives put women at the centre of their work. We want midwives to be part of the woman’s family, to develop a mutually respectful and satisfying relationship.
What we are currently doing:
We provide antenatal and postnatal care, homebirths and had started an integration project to attend women’s births in our alongside midwifery unit (Birth Centre).
What we want:
We want to build on our excellent service to promote continuity and increase midwife-led births in line with Better Births.
We want women to explore opportunities and we want the midwife to guide and support her along this exciting journey with passion and creativity.
You will have:
    • Completed your preceptorship programme
    • Confidence in your midwifery skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Passion for physiological birth
    • A zest for holistic care
    • And you will be prepared to be with women whatever their journey becomes.
Therefore, we are looking for part-time and/or full-time midwives who are happy to work in a community and unit-based setting.
