The West Suffolk Hospital is opening a unique therapy/nurse led unit within the acute hospital providing a focus on reablement care for patients that are deemed medically optimised.
Specialist therapy, nursing and community teams will work collaboratively to enable discharge home or to an appropriate care setting based on patients individual needs.

As a thank you for joining the West Suffolk Hospital, we are offering all new* Band 5 Staff Nurses a welcome payment of £1,500 on appointment and a further £1,500 if you remain with the Trust after a year of employment.

  • Previous West Suffolk Hospital employees must have a gap of over 6 months since their last employment with the Trust to be eligible for this payment.
Contractual terms will apply – employee’s leaving the Trust within the first or second year of employment will be required to repay a percentage of this payment on a sliding scale.

If you are an overseas applicant and need to complete the IELTS exam to be able to register with the NMC then the Trust will fund 1 attempt at the exam. If required the Trust will fund the cost of one additional IELT / OET from Level 6.5 to Level 7 / OET grade C+ to grade B.

The successful candidate for this post will be required to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Disclosure at Enhanced level.
For Band 1 and Band 2 posts, the cost of the DBS Disclosure will be met by the Trust. However, any employees at Band 1 and Band 2 who leave the Trust within six months of commencing their post will have a £10 administration fee deducted from their final salary. For posts at Band 3 and above, the cost of the Disclosure will be met by the appointed employee and deducted in instalments from their salary over a period of three months. If the employee leaves the Trust within three months of commencing their post, any outstanding payments will be deducted from their final pay.
