We are looking for a Packaging Designer based at the Research and Development facility in Wantage, Oxfordshire, working within the Packaging Design team.The team works on projects at the early stages of development, responding to customer briefs from all Crown Businesses across Europe, US and Asia.

Reporting to the Packaging Design Manager, the primary function of this role is to work with various stakeholders to develop early stage new metal packaging concepts and then transferring these to development teams.In addition this role will facilitate cross functional brainstorm sessions and developing concepts using Solidworks CAD software.

You will also develop graphics & artwork that is required to bring CAD models and physical samples to life, and be able to effectively communicate the merits of each concept.Along with the development of marketing material to promote new developments for trade shows and customer meetings.

Job Requirements:

In order to succeed in this role you will be educated to degree level in a Design or an Engineering discipline with a genuine interest in design, this could be a Design graduate who can demonstrate a keen interest in engineering or an Engineering graduate who exhibits a clear interest in design.You may have just graduated or have experience of working in a similar role for 1 or 2 years’ since graduating.

You will be a good team player with strong communication skills for presentations, interfacing with customers and to clearly communicate inspiring ideas. Excellent attention to detail, proficient working with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for manipulation of artwork and creation of concept images and Solidworks CAD software experience.

We really want someone who has an inquisitive mind, is eager to learn, who can adapt to changing priorities, has strong problem solving and time management skills.

Occasional travel will be expected for this role mostly within Europe & occasionally the US and Asia, European languages would be beneficial but not essential.
