Early Years Teaching Assistant – Graduate Role – Excellent Teacher Training Opportunity

If you are a recent graduate, who is looking to kick-start your career as a Primary School Teacher, then look no further!

This is the perfect opportunity and school to develop you skills in a happy and vibrant Early Years Department, prior to moving onto teacher training from September 2019.

  • Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant
  • Minimum 2:1 degree and experience with children, preferably in Early Years
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday role
  • Perfect opportunity to gain experience before teacher training
  • Long-term until the end of the academic year
  • Paid up to £325 per week, term-time only
  • Starting as soon as possible

This is a fantastic graduate role that will give you the insight into what it takes to be successful as and Early Years or Primary School Teacher. You will be joining a cohesive team that are committed to ensuring that all children in their first years of school have a positive impression of education and develop academically, socially and personally to achieve their potential.

You will be supporting the class teacher to set up each area every morning and will be assigned a different area each day to work in. Early Years learning is very much about observing and learning through other children, so a big part of this role will include writing up observations and milestones for the children.

In addition to this, you will support the class teacher to take small groups out of the classroom to work on handwriting and phonics, to ensure they are confident to move into Year 1.

Some children will find the transition from nursery to primary school a little trickier, so it is essential that you are kind, caring and willing to be patient to give these children the best possible opportunities to thrive.

This child-centred school is looking for a caring, patient and empathetic nature, with strong communication and resilience. You will need to have a good academic background, with a minimum of a 2:1 degree, some transferable experience working with children and a commitment to working in education. The school is located in a great location in the heart of Birmingham that is easily accessible by most train and bus services.

If you would like to join a supportive school that can help with your future career development, whilst having a positive impact on children’s first year of school, then send your CV to Jamie at i-teachers.
