Job Title: LAS (Locum Appointment for Service) FY2

Department: ENT – Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £28,640 to £32,386 per annum
Applications are invited to apply for a LAS FY2 in ENT at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This post has become available as a result of an unfilled training post in ENT. The post was due to commence on 1st August 2018 and will be for a 6 month fixed term contract.
This post carries a full shift 1:4 on-call commitment. Please refer to the job description for further information.
The post will provide a wide clinical experience in general ENT practice and should provide excellent practical training suitable for those considering a career in ENT surgery or General Practice. You will be involved with the care of both elective and emergency surgical in-patients, working in conjunction with the consultant-led team responsible for their care. There will be ample opportunity to gain considerable experience in the management of emergency and elective ENT cases.
The department comprises of 4 Consultants (2part-time posts), 1 Specialty Doctor, 1.5 Specialist Registrars, 1 Core Surgical Trainee, 1 GP Core Trainee and 2 F2 Trainees (including this post)
Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital. This allows us to attract, train and retain the best doctors and contribute towards the financial stability of the organisation. This is also an important step towards establishing the trust as a world-class centre for teaching excellence. The first students arrived on wards in May 2015 and at the beginning of 2017 a medical school building has been constructed, which has also created exciting opportunities in the future for all staff in the fields of clinical research and education. This exciting new phase will include opportunities for undergraduate and post graduate teaching, enhanced research facilities. A teaching and research background would be highly advantageous when applying for this position. We believe the continued growth of the hospital will allow us to expand and improve our services to offer the very best care to the people of Milton Keynes, and beyond.
Located just 50 miles north of London, Milton Keynes has excellent access to the capital whilst being centrally located for Oxford and Cambridge and having ease of access to the north.
