Job DescriptionThis role would be ideal for an under graduate in electronics, maths, physics or computer science. The Radio Integration and Optimisation Groups primary function is bring up, evaluation and optimization of new silicon with a emphasis on RF performance of Bluetooth radios. The group consists of multi-disciplined (RF, analogue, software and digital) engineers who, working closely with specialist design and systems engineers, use their broad knowledge to provide optimal tuning and solutions for radio operation. The role is predominantly lab-based working at a circuit, cell, subsystem or system level. The individual will be assigned to a project and will work closely with an experienced engineer. They will interface directly with analogue and digital designers, systems engineers and radio control firmware engineers to provide a complete radio system for validation and characterization over the devices operating voltage range, temperature and process skews. Daily tasks include: 1)Python code generation to control instrument and data acquisition. 2)Writing embedded code to exercise the chip functionality. 3)Maintaining test scripts and developing new features to optimise the RF performance of Bluetooth radios. 4)RF bench measurements. 5)Data reviews with the project team. Preferred Qualifications Broad experience of hardware; analogue and digital circuits, wireless communications, RF techniques. Competent in Python or other scripting languages. Knowledge of radio architectures at a cell, subsystem and system level. Knowledge of PLL, mixer, ADC/DAC, LNA and PA circuit operation. Interests in Bluetooth standards and methods for testing radios. Familiarity with embedded C code or Verilog. Education Requirements Successful completion of a 1st or 2nd years study towards a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Maths, Physics or related field.
