There is an exciting opportunity to develop and expand your respiratory scope of practice within Community and Therapies Group of Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals. The Community Respiratory Service within Sandwell is one of the longest and largest established community teams in the country with an innovative approach that delivers care to those individuals with long term respiratory conditions across Sandwell Borough. Working within the respiratory multidisciplinary team and as part of the wider community services you will develop your respiratory skills in urgent assessment and care, oxygen assessment and prescription, pulmonary rehabilitation, physiotherapy assessment and treatment and diagnostics through spirometry. Your working environment will include clinics, domiciliary and other community settings. The aim of the service is to deliver respiratory care including assessment and treatment of acute exacerbations to prevent hospital admissions and readmissions with a focus on the long term management of those with COPD, Asthma, Bronchiectasis and Interstitial Lung Disease. You will be supported by a respiratory specialist multidisciplinary team, which is part of a wider integrated community team dealing with long term conditions, in particular Heart Failure, in Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust.
