Medicine & Emergency Care are inviting student nurses due to qualify in the next 12 months to apply for posts within their Division.
Various positions are available, including development packages & bespoke rotational packages to include CardioRespiratory, Acute care of the elderly, Emergency Care, Stroke and Haematology.
Manvers Ward: specialises in Cardiology with an integrated cardiac monitoring unit, on-site angiography suite and cardiac rehab team.
Markham Ward: Respiratory Medicine to including the management of Non-Invasive Ventialtion, Specialist respiratory nurse and Lung Cancer specialist.
Eastwood Ward: Integrated Acute Stroke & Stroke rehab unit with Early Supported Discharge Team.
Durrant Ward: Acute Frailty Unit with admission avoidance chaired bay, reducing length of stay with daily multi-approach ward rounds.
Ashover Ward: Acute Care of the Elderly ward with dementia friendly patient focused care.
Ridgeway Ward: Specialising in Gastroenterology, with possibilities to link with our Endoscopy Suite
Pearson Ward: Our newly formed team with agreed specialities of respiratory and general medicine.
EMU/SSU: Combining our Emergency Management Unit, Short Stay Unit and Ambulatory Care.
Hasland Ward: Combining two acute specialities, both Haematology and Diabetes.
Patient flow/Discharge Lounge: Ensuring patients are allocated and transferred to the right ward in a safe and controlled way. Once medically fit for discharge, the discharge lounge team will make sure leaving the hospital is stress free.
Emergency Department: Covering triage, Minors, Majors and Resus.
All areas are supported with a senior leadership team, a clinical ward matron and a team of band 6 nurses.
We promote career progression through an onsite education centre, clinical skills team, clinical educators and competency booklets
