Our client are searching for Law Graduates for their brand new 2-year training programme, providing in-house and on the job training with an array of clients, over a variety of disciplines. You will be working in a fast paced, exciting environment where your professional and personal development is paramount; with an array of very strong career progression prospects in place. You will have a Law degree from an acknowledged university, and at least 1 years' experience within a legal or related role.

This rare opportunity will involve a huge variety of tasks and learning exercises on a daily basis, but you can expect your daily schedule as Legal Advisor can include a selection of the following:

  • Constantly learning and developing your skillset over several legal departments
  • Client Relationship Management - liaising and effectively communicating with your clients on a daily basis face-to-face, over the phone and by written means
  • Issuing advice to clients within a supervised environment - this may be via bespoke letter writing and developing relationships, ultimately being responsible for your own group of clients
  • Accompanying HR Advisors to meetings and hearings; communicating and collaborating with them on matters such as client meetings, managing investigations
  • In time you will be chairing hearings on issues such as disciplinaries, termination of employment and grievances
  • Preparing letters and documents, invites, outcomes and other related paperwork for meetings
  • Spending short periods of time out of the office and travelling to locations around the UK to support your clients

The following skills, achievements and experience are necessary to succeed in the role of Legal Advisor:

  • A Law degree - an LLB or similar, from a recognised University is essential
  • 12 months minimum working using your legal skills
  • Experience in a high volume case handling environment - perhaps in Conveyancing or RTA work - desirable although not essential
  • The ability to organise, prioritise your own workload, and work to tight deadlines and KPIs
  • A professional and effective telephone manner
  • A basic, fundamental understanding of UK Employment law and how it may relate to your clients
  • Commercial acumen, and a practical approach to managing your work
  • A valid driving license
  • Prepared to commit to 2 years' work in North Leeds
