Overview of the Department:
The risk management team is part of the Actuarial and Risk Department managed by our clients Chief Risk Officer/Chief Actuary. The team is responsible for the design, implementation and operation of the risk management framework for their London Market Division. Key responsibilities include managing the quarterly risk and control self-assessment process, co-ordinating and reporting the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process and overseeing Lloyd's exposure management reporting requirements.
Purpose of role:
To support the UK Head of Risk with the operation and ongoing development of the risk management framework, to ensure that risks to the business are effectively identified, assessed, mitigated, monitored and reported.
Main areas of responsibility:
To maintain business risk registers, which are recorded and managed using Magique risk management software, including:
o Co-ordination of the quarterly risk and control assessments across the business;
o Recording of assessment outcomes and updating the risk registers;
o Accurate and timely reporting of data, including Risk Indicator results;
o Acting as point of contact for business users and providing training and support as required;
o Maintenance of the Magique system and liaising with Magique support services to resolve technical issues.
- To oversee the Lloyd's Realistic Disaster Scenario exercises, including co-ordination of the data gathering process, collation of results and reporting to management and Lloyd's.
- To liaise with the capital modelling team to link capital setting with the risk management framework.
- To contribute towards the identification, analysis and reporting of Emerging Risks.
- To assist with the organisation and production of papers for internal management groups and the Board Risk Management Committee.
- To contribute to the ongoing development of the risk management framework, including improvements to reporting and development of Magique functionality.

Technical expertise:
- Good analytical and data management skills
- Intermediate to advanced IT skills including: MS Office suite, MS Visio
- Understanding of risk management principles and application
- Knowledge of the Lloyd's London market and insurance operations processes preferred but not essential.
Education and experience:
- Graduate / graduate calibre / relevant professional qualifications (IRM/CII).
- Previous experience in a risk management department, preferably within the insurance industry.
