About the job

What you’ll be doing:

Shrinking the Cell Feed electronics and designing PCBs:

  • Shrink the footprint of the electronics in different areas of the product
  • Designing and getting made PCBs for each of these areas, ensuring they fit within the physical constraints of the product envelope

Integrating new sensors into Cell Feed:

  • Identifying new sensors and ICs that enable features that are on the product roadmap, such as microscope integration (soon)
  • Rapid prototyping test rigs to check feasibility of these sensors for the use cases
  • Integrating these sensors, including writing robust firmware
  • Working with the rest of the hardware team to position these sensors within the physical product

Adding features to existing firmware, and ensuring firmware robustness:

  • Adding robust firmware features, such as deeper understanding of the physical state of the hardware for catching errors or generating richer data
  • Writing and running test cases to test the firmware

Debugging issues during product development and pilots:

  • Methodically debugging issues found in prototypes, through a combination of embedded software logging and oscilloscope/other electronics testing equipment

  • Initially part-time or full-time depending on candidate
  • Potential for part-time candidate to grow into a full-time role
