Job description

When you’ve got loads of tech talent
But you’re a little strapped for cash
Our CyberFirst Bursaries have your back.
You know you’re made to work in technology. You’re a top-notch student who likes coding, or social media, or you’re an avid gamer, or you just like messing around with computers. You want to take it further – but getting the right skills doesn’t come cheap.
Well, our CyberFirst bursary can help. If you’ve got an offer to study any degree at a UK university starting in Autumn 2018 or Autumn 2019, our £4,000 annual bursary could be just what you need. You’ll even get summer work experience with government and top tech firms, and a near-guaranteed cyber tech role when you graduate.
The CyberFirst Student Bursary Scheme – inspired and led by the National Cyber Security Centre – is a six-year programme covering three stages of your career:

  1. University: you’ll receive an annual £4,000 bursary throughout your degree
  2. Each summer: you’ll carry out work experience with cyber security teams in government or industry, for which you’ll be paid £250 per week
  3. After graduation: at the end of all that, we’ll look to place you in a graduate-level cyber security role

The best part of all is, you’ll be joining a diverse network of people who want to support your talent – helping you achieve your dream career in cyber tech, whatever your background.
So who are we looking for? Young people who love their tech, of any gender, background, or experience level. You don’t have to be a programming genius – you just need to have an initial understanding of how computers work and how to secure them. You’ve got an offer to study a degree in any subject at a UK university starting in Autumn 2018 or Autumn 2019, you’re a UK national, and you’ve got (or been predicted) three A-Levels (or equivalent) at B or above, in any subject.
So, when you’ve got the tech passion, but your career needs a little push – we have your back. Join CyberFirst.
