We're looking for the next Data Science superstar - eagerness, passion and enthusiasm are what we need... oh and some stats, Python and the ability to understand a lot of data!

The role will involve exposure to different areas of Annalect spanning the following:

  • Data extraction. Extracting data from various systems, cloud sources (AWS Redshift, S3), or APIs through writing and execute code (SQL and similar). Setting up templates to request data from clients
  • Data wrangling and formatting. Cleaning and combining offline, online or mixed sources into reporting and analytical datasets. Building in manual or automatic validation and accuracy checks
  • Exploratory data analysis. Using a range of techniques to develop and test hypotheses about how consumers are responding to marketing
  • Supporting analysis. Supervised tasks that contribute to addressing client/planner questions. Making use of Excel, R or specialist analysis software (EViews) as required
  • Insight generation. Help the team deliver business recommendations by assisting with results calculations and populating reports and presentations
  • Visualisation. Supporting the build of intuitive Dashboards/Front end website site design
  • Maintenance. Help support the team in maintaining existing software and data infrastructure.
  • Administration. Help support the team in administering user access to existing software and data infastructure
  • Training. Working closely with the teams to introduce and train them on new tools
  • Documentation. Write documentation of new processes and products you’ve developed so that knowledge is shared
  • Relationships. Build relationships with analytics and data communities within OMG, UK

You are able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication skills; you are articulate in verbal and written formats

You have had exposure to some of the following tools and techniques:

  • Degree or relevant qualifications for the role. Valuable subject areas are; Computer Science, Maths/Statistics, Software Engineering, Economics (or similar subjects)
  • Experience in coding/programming with some of the following: SQL, R, Python, PHP, Scala, JavaScript, HTML5
  • Advantage to also know/have used cloud technologies e.g. AWS, Hadoop, Hive, Spark
  • Database querying, data reduction and data mining techniques
  • Multivariate regression, econometrics, and other statistical techniques
  • Supervised/unsupervised machine learning algorithms
  • Interest in advertising/marketing and new technologies
