About the Workforce Intelligence Team
The role sits within the Workforce Intelligence Team (WIT) of the HEE Midlands and East
Business Intelligence Unit (BIU). WIT supports the achievement of HEE Midland and East’s aim by identifying or collecting, processing and presenting data to inform decision-making relating to workforce issues.
About the role
This role is based in the Midlands and East region of HEE and is advertised in our Cambridge location, but could be located in any of our Midlands and East offices (Cambridge, Leicester, Birmingham) depending on applicant’s location. We are seeking a full-time Information Analyst on a 12-month secondment opportunity or a fixed term contract, with the possibility for extension. The post- holder will work within the Workforce Intelligence Team of the HEE Midlands and East Business Intelligence Unit to provide analytical support to enable the successful delivery of regional and local initiatives.
As Information Analyst, you will be responsible for the provision of information and analytics services to support business needs. The role requires analytical skills and the ability to guide and advise on business intelligence and information management.
You will be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail, a natural ability to plan ahead, be keen to apply your analytical skills and be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
Strong interpersonal skills will be essential to support the day to day business requirements for HEE Midlands and East. The role covers a range of duties including the collection, analysis and reporting of insightful information to help our executive directors, senior managers and key stakeholders make informed business decisions, liaising with appropriate teams across HEE as required.
Relationship building will be an important element of this role and the post holder will be required to develop, implement, and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders across HEE.
Key responsibilities include:
• providing analytics through the use of appropriate tools (e.g. SQL Server, Tableau, SSIS, and Excel) to extract, transform, query and present data
• undertaking data collection and data quality checking
• providing accurate and timely reports from a range of sources
• being proactive in pursuing new and improved working practices within their role
• maintaining customised dashboards to support end user
• providing administration support to the BI team
