Test Engineer to help with the production and manufacture of composite engineering for growing business. The client produce high precision, low volume products which require an engineer with a great attention for detail and practical skills. Some proven commercial experience essential. Apprenticeship trained or similar would suit the position well.

Responsibilities include:

  • In a small team be required to assist with engineering builds & tests for composite product
  • Assist in setting up and building a test environment (rigs, test beds, test cells etc.)
  • Where necessary repairing, maintaining, aligning, overhauling of product
  • Use of instrumentation (e.g. pressure, temperature & other data acquisition, multimeters, diagnostics)
  • Overseeing computers hooked up to the product - e.g. control systems, logging, and management systems. So must be IT proficient!
  • Provide technical assistance to other mechanics where necessary.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned such as logging and documentation


  • Degree educated in Engineering, Mechanical, Electronics / Electrical, Physics or similar
  • Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools
  • Working knowledge of the mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and associated components
  • IT proficient - PC based management systems, loggers and analysers
  • Use of digital equipment.

For example:

  1. Multimeters & Analysers
  2. Micrometers
  3. Diagnostic & Test Tools
  4. electronics and electrical using digital multimeter with data logging
  5. digital oscilloscope
  • Ability to read and interpret symbols, layout sheets, diagrams, schematics, technical orders, and manufacturer's specifications
  • Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position
  • Experience during studies or commercial on plastics, thermoplastics, composite, polymers or similar

The Test Engineer will have a good capacity to learn & be happy to take on instruction. They will receive excellent support to ensure they move up to a fully-fledged Test Engineer role!
