Person Specification – Graduate Teaching Assistant
The ideal candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic Graduate who has a 2:1 degree or above. Any previous experience of mentoring/working with children would be advantageous. Additional skills are always welcome, so if you are able to speak another language, and/or have experience working and living abroad, so that you can engage with children who are in a similar situation.
About the role
This role will involve you joining a supportive and multicultural Primary School as a teaching assistant. Your specific responsibilities will involve working with children in the reception class who speak English as an Additional Language. You may be required to work 1:1 to deliver booster and intervention strategies with pupils and liaise with their class teacher/parents. This class has a higher than average proportion of EAL and needs extra support to ensure they have the opportunity to progress.
