Are you a Band 5 Nurse? Do you have an interest in this area? Would like to develop your professional skills further within our friendly, dynamic and supportive team ?
Then E1 Ward in Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital is the ward you are looking for!
E1 is a 22 bedded Gastroenterology and medical ward, based at Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital, part of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are developing a new High Care Area on the ward to broaden the service we can offer to our patients, and to support flow through Critical Care.
The provision of this exciting new service will enhance your learning and development, as you will experience rotation through a High Care Service provision whilst on your base ward - supported by the clinical matron and band 7 to enable consolidation of your existing nursing skills and development of acute skills in gastroenterology.
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust pioneered the development of the new Clinical Matron role, with a Matron working clinically on every ward area, influencing the standards and proactively leading staff to deliver the highest quality of compassionate care. Each ward area also has a Band 7 Sister / Charge Nurse, whose role is to support staff education and development, creating a culture of learning within these areas and the wider organisation.
As a team we work very closely with our approachable and enthusiastic Consultants and we have a truly MDT approach to our care provision which extends to supporting nurse education through learning opportunities in clinics. The team is organised, well established, stable and enthusiastic, and has the ability to prioritise and be flexible in the frequently changing situations we all face in nursing today.
We welcome all applicants who feel they share the Trusts core CARE values and we also encourage Newly Qualified staff nurses to consider consolidating their training with us. We offer a supportive preceptorship period with excellent training opportunities and we are happy to discuss alternative shifts to the standard long day/ night duty.
Do you need to relocate to take up this role?
For candidates who need to move to the local area to take up this opportunity to work with us, the trust may provide single occupancy accommodation in Basingstoke for your first 3 months of joining.
This is to allow you to settle into your new role as well as the local area whilst making longer term accommodation arrangements.
