The list of iconic attractions in Westminster is quite spectacular. Ranging from the grandeur of The Houses of Parliament to the vibrant Covent Garden’s streets, this is an area that goes from strength-to-strength. The hustle and bustle of our world-famous nightlife is complemented by shopping opportunities in Oxford, Regent and Carnaby Streets – drawing more than one million people to Westminster every day. And with these residents, workers and tourists comes a need for high-quality public services and an efficient local authority.
This is a role that we are proud to fulfil. Working collaboratively to meet the needs of our communities, we enjoy an exciting and progressive working environment where team spirit pervades every decision. In order to continue meeting the needs of this large population, we therefore offer regular training and development opportunities to our people – resulting in a happy and progressive workforce.
Joining the Revenue and Benefits team, you will be central to ensuring one or more of the following outsourced contracts are meeting our high standards: Revenues Services, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Service, Council Tax Application Service, Enforcement Agent Service or the Print and Mailing Service. Managing the performance of your allocated contractor(s), you will be instrumental in the success of this service, auditing and identifying areas for improvement, offering technical guidance, handling complaints and producing service level agreements.
This is a great role with the scope to have a direct impact on the success of the service. As such, you will have good business acumen and the capacity to handle large revenue budgets, plus experience of delivering a Revenues or Benefits service, with up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legislation. You will also have active debt management experience in a public environment, with the ability to drive change. Outstanding communication skills are a must, and you will have a solid understanding of financial techniques and methodologies.
If you’re as productive as you are ambitious and collaborative as you are enterprising, this is your chance to take real ownership of your work, right in the heart of iconic Westminster, a true ‘City for All’. This is a unique place where it all happens and an important role offering you the opportunity to transform lives.
As a progressive and innovative organisation, we welcome applications from candidates keen to work in an agile environment with flexible conditions.
