The OpportunityAre you a Nurse in the United Kingdom with a lapsed registration? Cygnet Healthcare is offering a fully funded programme to support trained Nurses to return to practice and re-join the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Register.
The course, which will be run in collaboration with London City University, is a structured educational course which ensures Nurses develop the required knowledge and skills to bring their practice up to date.
There is an educational component to the course, along with a defined amount of practical hours. The amount of practical hours is dependent on the number of years your registration has been lapsed, and will be confirmed at interview. Your placements will take place at your local Cygnet Healthcare Hospital.
Structure of the CourseThe structure of the course is that it will have 10 University theoretical days supplemented by your practical experience:
Stage 1 – Application ProcessOnce you have completed your application, it will be reviewed by Cygnet Healthcare.
Stage 2 – InterviewIf your application is successful, you will be invited to attend for interview and we would like to start the course within the next few months.
Following this interview, you may be required to complete a numeracy and literacy test.
Stage 3 – Acceptance onto courseIf you are successful at interview, you will be offered a place on the next course to run at the University.
Stage 4 – Completing the courseStage 5 – Commencement of employment with Cygnet Healthcare
Once you have completed the course and been signed off by your mentor, the University will contact the NMC to advise that you have completed a return to practice course. The NMC will assess the information and re-activate your PIN. Once this has been confirmed, you will then become a Registered Mental Health Nurse with Cygnet Healthcare.
