The events market is ripe for disruption, by resolving numerous pain points and inefficiencies that exist today. A tech and data led approach will maintain our low cost operating model and enable us to reach quality prospects effectively. Weve already proven that we can onboard venues (supply side) faster than any other marketplace. And were securing organiser traffic (demand side) at below expected cost, with encouraging early conversion metrics. Benjy Meyer & Rebecca Kelly between them have >20 years of experience in pioneering start-up roles, product development, running £bn operations, digital marketing and experience design across multiple consumer facing businesses inc. Tesco, M&S, Majestic Wine, Naked Wines.

Role Scope

This is the opportunity to be part of the early stage growth of VenueScanner. This is your chance to see how a real start-up operates and be a core part of its growth into a market leading product. Youll have great independence and responsibility, love a challenge, be a doer and be naturally energetic and passionate. Youll be working to deliver a world class experience for our members. There will be lots and lots of jobs, the nature of a start-up giving you loads of variety and learning.

Venue Discovery
  • Use modern-day tech tools to merchandise the website so that our users discover the most relevant venues for their search.
  • Assist our members via online chat, phone and email with finding venues
  • Use Google Analytics and other data to improve our search facility and make it work better for more users.
  • Define and deploy new categories of event types or venue types to segment and grow the customer base.
  • Prepare on site content to improve the performance of our website for Googles SEO algorithm.
  • Find & sign up new venues to the website
Enquiry Management
  • Support our VIP customers with great customer service to drive their loyalty.
  • Use open & click and other data sources to evaluate and improve our enquiry notification system.
  • Assist event organisers and venue hosts with the enquiry process, as necessary.
  • Help the tech team define and test new features before they are deployed.
  • Work as a team to deliver our booking conversion and revenue targets.
Skills & Characteristics Required

> Naturally personable, friendly, fun and up for lots of change, challenge and debate - we are a very energetic and fast paced team!

> Good at building relationships with team and people - positive and can do attitude.

> Strong writing skills, can be colloquial but must be engaging and great English.

> Good knowledge of London and be able to recommend venues (or can learn quickly).

> Understands and can respond to data with actions.

> Hard working, loves learning and up for a new challenge every day!
