We're on the hunt for an apprentice to join the Newable team in Barbican, London. As the Business Admin Apprentice, you will be working within the Business Advisory Services team and reporting to the project manager. We are looking for an organised and personable individual that to join their encouraging and collaborative environment. 
As part of your apprenticeship with WhiteHat, you will be working full time in an exciting workplace. Here’s a bit about the company offering this vacancy.
About NewableNewable is an active and creative supporter of small businesses, working to create jobs, encourage enterprise and equip SMEs with expertise, confidence and resources.

Located near: Barbican station, London.

The role:

To liaise with Newable Innovation team and International Trade team Communicate effectively with people of varying educational and cultural backgrounds and language ability.

As a valued member of the team, your role will cover:


  1. To act as a support person to the team; to be able to multi-task.
  2. Maintaining and up-dating accurate documentation.
  3. Design and deliver elements of projects according to targets.
  4. Undertake other International/ Innovation administrative tasks as requested.
  5. Taking minutes for meetings and preparing agendas.
  6. Support in preparing and compiling claims to funders.
  7. Maintaining and updating project databases.
  8. Filing, organising folders, labelling.
  9. Applying ISO processes.
  10. Supporting the administration of the procurement processes.
  11. Maintaining and updating project databases.

Working 9 am to 6 pm, Mon-Fri.

Future prospects

  • After your Business Administration apprenticeship progress into HR, Recruitment, Sales, Marketing & PR, Real Estate, Personal Assistant, Office Management, Business Management.
  • After completing your Business Administration apprenticeship you will be awarded: A level 3 Business Administration qualification equivalent to 2 A-levels.

Training provided

  1. Training will be on the 18 months, Business Administration advanced level Standard.
  2. Being a WhiteHat apprentice means access to awesome social events, sports teams, insight/career days with other apprentices to grow your network, as well as your own personal Coach who will guide you through the qualification to help you achieve your full potential.
  3. As part of your WhiteHat Apprenticeship, you will have access to our Future Leaders Foundation modules to develop 6 key competencies, underpinned by well-being, self-awareness, motivation, conscientiousness, effectiveness and grit.

Skills and soft skills required 

  1. Good Microsoft word, Excel and Outlook skills.
  2. Efficient and organised qualities.
  3. Strong telephone manner/skills.
  4. Ability to interact with a wide variety of people at different levels.
  5. Ability to work on their own initiative.

Grades required

1. Five GCSE grades C – A* (or 4-9), including Maths and English.

2. A good knowledge of IT including all Microsoft packages.

3. Please note that applicants with the following will not be able to go on the level 3 Business Administration programme:

  • BTEC Extended Diploma.
  • BTEC Double Diploma.
  • BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma.
