Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for the delivery of the school nursing service across both Birmingham and Sandwell and is currently recruiting to posts within Birmingham school nursing teams. Our school nurse teams work closely with schools and the Local Authority, as well as all public health services and local community services to support children and young people to reach their full potential in adult life.
We are looking for applicants, who are enthusiastic and highly motivated registered nurses to join our School Nurse Teams within Birmingham Community Health Care NHS Foundation Trust.

We need nurses who can work well with children, young people and their families, can cope well with pressure and can be innovative when delivering care in schools, clinics and clients’ homes.

The successful candidate will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with children, young people, their families and professionals. They will be able to work well within a team and have an excellent understanding of the current guidance and public health outcomes within school nursing. They will possess understanding of safeguarding and knowledge of the health needs of the children and communities in which they will work. They will also need good IT skills to make effective use of our mobile working technology and IT systems.
Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust is committed to service user involvement and so young people are often involved in the recruitment of school nurses. Please be aware that if you are shortlisted you may be interviewed by an interview panel of young people prior to being interviewed by school nurse team leaders. Both of these panels will be held simultaneously on the same day.
