Functional IT Lead - MI
Role Objective
The BI Developer role encompasses and is responsible for:
  • Gathering and documenting Business user requirements for BI/MI developments
  • Design and delivery of customer reports using Power BI and SSRS/SSAS
  • Design and build ETL processes using SSIS to populate the data warehouse from a number of source systems (SQL, Oracle, Excel, SSAS Cubes, Essbase, Azure)
  • Development of Tabular Model using Kimball methodology
  • DBA activities helping to ensure the consistent running of SQL Servers
  • Identify data sources and work with Stakeholders on how to exploit their data.
  • Identify errors in data and make necessary recommendations
  • Work on AI and Machine Learning developments
Principle accountabilities and Responsibilities
Developing Capability and Performance:
  • Responsible for working with BI Lead to drive MI delivery on projects
  • Interacting with stakeholders across Seadrill’s business functions and externally
  • Gathering business requirements and translating these into technical solution.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Project deliverables from an MI perspective are accepted by the business, meet the agreed quality standards
  • Liaise with Group, Regional and 3rd Party personnel ensuring alignment of all deliveries
  • Act as an evangelist for MI capability’s, promoting benefits of MI throughout the business.
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and build use cases for how Seadrill can exploit these.
Essentials
Background and Skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience
  • Strong communications and documentation skills.
  • Microsoft Power BI, SSIS and SSRS/SSAS Tools
  • Advanced use of MS Excel and SQL
  • Understanding of relational databases SQL/Oracle
  • Data Warehousing, SSAS and Tabular Models
  • AGILE/Devops
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills
  • Ability to set and achieve aggressive goals.
  • Effectively work cross-functionally with and through business IS managers and outsources partners.
  • Any exposure to Azure and cognitive services would be desirable.
