We offer a 12 month preceptorship programme for all our newly qualified health care professionals to support your transition into the working world. This provides a structured progression from student to employee allowing you to develop your skills as required by the Trust and governing bodies and gives you the opportunity to attend study days, training sessions and to complete an in house Service Improvement project.
We have vacancies within our surgical division suitable for newly qualified nurses and ODP’s will support your development. Our aim is to continue the lifelong learning process from point of registration onwards as you gain experience within your nursing career and helps create development outcomes to support your appraisal process.
The programme is structured in theme days to ensure content is linked in terms of relevance. The overarching themes are knowledge and skills acquisition delivered in a variety of blended learning styles. This will enable attendees to gain knowledge and skills via simulation, taught sessions, group work, e-learning, team building exercises, reflection and critical thinking to ensure development is tailored to all learning abilities. It is delivered by department leads who are specialists in their areas, so you can receive current evidence based knowledge provided by experts in their field.
Preceptees are provided with a preceptor or buddy who will signpost ways to achieve targets by facilitating regular reviews and supporting your development.
