Duties / Responsibilities:Responsible for conducting and supporting procurement activities related to the acquisition of general goods and services to meet programme schedule, quality and cost objectives. Responsibilities include, raising and managing procurement requests and orders developing and implementing purchasing strategies in conjunction with the project management team to satisfy programme objectives.
Position Responsibilities:To manage and maintain the flow of PO/PR requests in the procurement department via an SAP Procure to Pay system. Support and manage the procurement of goods and services for UK based programmes. Provide supplier select and evaluation services, this will include drafting non-standard or unique terms and conditions as well as advocating and implementing competitive procurement action/approach whenever feasible.
  • To prepare invitations to tender.
  • To evaluate tenders including fact-finding of suppliers' proposals.
  • To negotiate price and contract terms with suppliers.
Act as the focal point for contractual communication with suppliers.  This involves monitoring supplier performance and compliance with contract terms, interfacing with the suppliers' counterpart and management, as necessary, to resolve contract compliance and invoicing issues or problems.
Business EnvironmentRotary and Mission Systems Logistics and Training (RMS LT) entity provides a diverse range of products, services and capabilities. The Training product line ranges between CBT (Computer-based-training) through to high-fidelity, full-mission simulators for military and civilian domains. The logistic product range includes aircraft ground support equipment, automatic test equipment, health and usage monitoring systems and logistic support software. RMS LT is one of the smaller but growing divisions of Lockheed Martin.
