Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. Operations and Supply Chain employees have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality, and efficiency of our operations worldwide.
As a Supply Chain Intern, located in Windsor Locks, CT, you will have the responsibility to support and drive several projects from concept to implementation, giving a unique opportunity to network across a highly cross-functional organization. The Supply Chain organization is seeking a goal-oriented and energetic fall intern student to support supply chain activities. This role offers the selected candidate an opportunity to own several high impact projects associated with our purchasing and delivery performance teams, in addition to working process improvements that will enhance the performance of the larger team. It is an ideal learning experience for fall intern candidates interested in making significant contributions and learning more about supply chain management in a practical setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of supplier relationships, including delivery, quality performance, cost, inventory management, and customer satisfaction
  • Oversee purchase order execution and product delivery, ensuring placement of on-time schedule agreements, billing adjustments, terminations mitigation, and cost reduction goal execution
  • Compliance with all aspects of the UTAS Procurement Manual, UTC Code of Ethics, International Trade Compliance, and Transition Standard Work (TSW)
  • Coordination with New Program Integration (NPI) / Development Procurement, Global Transitions to effect a smooth transition of new hardware from development into full production as well as the resolution of producibility and quality issues on key programs
  • Engage with the relevant Strategic Sourcing team and participate in long-term sourcing decisions
  • Interaction with Regional Office personnel such as Delivery Assurance Specialists, Supplier Quality Assurance Representatives (SQAR's) and the Continuous Improvement Specialists providing procurement and materials management for the commodities
  • Ensure cost analysis/price justification, market share appropriations, and placement of schedule agreements are completed on-time and in compliance with all appropriate regulations and procedures
  • Responsible for reducing all forms of quality and delivery turnbacks through weekly QCPC / MRP turnback meetings
  • Accountable for implementing effective Delivery/Quality Clinics (DQC's) with suppliers, as required

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or another related field
  • Must have GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must have completed 30 hours of college coursework
