We are a rapidly growing vacation rental company based in London venturing also in property acquisition, development, and management. We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced manager to join our team as Assistant Accountant to develop and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities.

Main responsibilities:

Maintaining of the company’s Accounting platform (Xero), including but not limited to:

  • Invoice recording and creation
  • Debtor & creditor reconciliation
  • Expense preparation and posting
  • Debt management and collection
  • Reviewing and managing staff and client expenses
  • VAT reconciliation and return
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Dealing with HMRC correspondence
  • Reconciling all short let rental income receivable to the bank to ensure all Booking channels, such as Airbnb and booking.com have paid us.
  • Communicating with Guest and Reservation teams to ensure Monthly Statements (net rent) to Landlords are correct and sent and paid on a timely basis
  • Invoicing Members (cleaning and maintenance charges etc.) on a weekly basis
  • Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organisation's mission and help execute staff succession and growth plans.
  • Monitor banking activities of the organisation and ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organisation's needs.

Person Specifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a Finance/Accounting function
  • Working towards a recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA) (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience handling a high volume of invoices
  • Experience working with General Ledger
  • Good Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills, particularly when interacting with budget holders
  • Excellent time management, communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and get things done in a timely manner
