Job description

An exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced environment here at Nissan Sunderland Plant where we build a car every minute to fulfil customer orders. We don’t stock pile vehicles but build in synchronisation with customer orders meaning a Blue LEAF could roll off our production line followed by a Red Qashqai then a White Qashqai, the permutations are endless.
Main responsibilities:
The Operations Management Department (Production Control), turn customer orders into an optimised manufacturing schedule that allows us to assemble cars as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. Below are just a few of the functions within the department:

  • Supply chain management / operational support for a number of Renault Nissan Alliance suppliers
  • Supply chain performance analysis and improvement strategies
  • Support for new project / new model development
  • Production planning and daily schedule creation
  • Cross functional working with other Nissan departments and global Manufacturing sites
  • Inventory management and control
  • Logistics planning and logistics control

Procurement
Nissan has one of the most comprehensive European presences of any overseas manufacturer, employing more than 17,000 staff across Design, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Logistics, Sales & Marketing and Purchasing operations.
Procurement is a key function within any automotive manufacturer, After all, when you consider that 80% of the car value is from externally sourced components you can understand how important your role within purchasing will be. Throughout your role, you will learn about the vast variety of functions within purchasing and will be allocated your own area of responsibility from the following:

  • Line parts, indirect, aftersales, vendor tooling, purchase project management, purchase planning and co-ordination, supplier quality development and total delivered cost.

We are an ambitious organisation, and we are looking for equally ambitious and innovative people to join our dynamic Procurement team. Nissan is positioned to become the most desirable Asian brand in Europe, and we need your help to get there.

The subject of the degree you are doing is not as important as the type of person you are. If you think you have the skills to make an impression we want to hear from you. One thing’s for sure though, you’ll develop quickly, because, the pace here is fast to say the least! Key tasks and responsibilities
You will have several projects on the go, at any one time. Don’t worry you will not be alone – you’ll have an experienced mentor from day one who will support you to succeed. You’ll be involved in data and cost analysis for future activities, supplier visits and continual liaison with internal departments.
Responsibilities could include:

  • Sourcing for all new models across Nissan Europe
  • Daily communication with suppliers/internal and external departments
  • Cost management of parts with both suppliers and internal departments
  • Project management activities for new European projects
  • Internal Reporting of key cost information on a monthly basis
  • Supplier visits

At NMUK, Alliance Logistics Europe (ALE) works as an integral part of Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi’s Supply Chain Management team, offering a wide range of opportunities within an exciting and ever changing environment. Main responsibilities
Your responsibilities will be dependent on which section of the Supply Chain Management Department you will work in. These include:

  • Inbound parts management
  • Packaging engineering
  • Outbound vehicle management
  • Warehouse management
  • Material handling
  • Statistical reporting
  • Distribution
  • Projects
