Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a superstar coordinator with great communication skills to support our Dog Schools. Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.
In our area of focus, we have increasingly found that dogs are given up because they have developed behaviours that their owners find difficult to manage. As a result, Dogs Trust Dog School is a recent initiative to establish a nationwide delivery of dog training and education for dog owners in their local communities. Dog training classes, preventative behavioural advice, and the promotion of all aspects of responsible dog ownership, along with the reassurance of it all being Dogs Trust, will help ensure that owners have a positive and fulfilling relationship with their dogs.

The Dog School Officer role is crucial in ensuring good communication between the Dog School field team and Dog Schools, and between Dog School and wider teams within Dogs Trust. You will be responsible for ensuring that all Dog School resources are relevant and up-to-date, and ensure that Dog School teams are fully equipped to complete their daily tasks with efficient tools, equipment and support. You will also take lead in making sure all admin processes across the department are relevant and up to date.
The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, be well organised and numerate. You will possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong administrative skills. A thorough knowledge of Dogs Trust Dog School objectives and ethos will be advantageous.
