At Larne we design, develop and manufacture Large Electric Power and Retail, Investor and Solutions generating sets for Caterpillar and other Original Engine Manufacturers (OEMs); as well delivering analytics and digital services to our customers. You will be working as part of a global engineering team helping to create sustainable, world-changing solutions that impact lives around the globe.

What is the role?

This position works alongside all employees to improve quality practices in their processes through:

  • Continuous quality improvement projects
  • Developing training programs,
  • Improving & updating of quality checklists in support of reported issues,
  • Conducting internal quality audits that support CQMS certification
  • Supporting and introducing Quality Hold initiatives for serious quality issues found in the field or internal processes,
  • Supporting the implementation of the BIQ Processes
  • Ensuring that Quality Alerts are raised and resolved using RCCA in the required timeframe.

What experiences can we offer you?

Lasting 24 months and following Caterpillar Quality Management System (CQMS) processes and procedures, our graduates move through different areas of the business to develop their technical skills and knowledge of the business by doing 3 - 6 month rotations in the following departments:

  • Quality
  • Operations
  • Applications / Product Support
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Design and PVS
  • Logistics

We will provide you with a mentor to support you throughout your professional development to help you gain your Chartered or Incorporated Status.

What opportunities are after the scheme?

Following the completion of the graduate scheme, you join the Quality organisation and will be primarily focused on supporting our Internal and As Delivered Quality objectives. The role is an integral part of our manufacturing quality teams, working with CQMS and ISO9001 Quality management frameworks and executing positive change using Six Sigma and Built In Quality (BIQ) principles. A further expectation of the role will be to champion the use of proactive tools such as Manufacturing APQP ensuring processes and products are implemented defect free.

Applicants should be on target to achieve a minimum of a 2:1 in the flowing engineering disciplines:
