An expanding and award-winning family owned cleaning chemicals manufacturer, with an ethos and nurturing mentality that any employee would wish for, are currently recruiting for a Research Chemist (KTP Associate) for a 36 month fixed term contract, with a real potential to become a part of the team permanently.
Recent BSc, MSc or Phd Chemistry graduates with a bias in analytical, formulation or materials science or those with a little experience are invited to apply.

Key responsibilities:
* Formulation Science – It is anticipated that a significant part of this research will involve creating new cleaning formulations and testing the properties of commercial products made from these. This will require the research chemist to develop an understanding of the role of the various components cleaning products and to be able to deliver quantifiable changes to the soil removal properties through varying the composition.
* Analytical chemistry – The surface of materials will need to be analysed and characterised using a range of techniques including, spectroscopy such as infra-red or fluorescence spectroscopy and surface analysis techniques to identify and quantify soil types.
* Prototype testing - including targeted product testing as well as developing more quantitative analytical soil removal tests using techniques such as optical spectroscopy testing.
* Develop a full understanding of the strategic aims and function of the KTP project, the company and University.
* Undertake research, development, implementation and project management
* Take the ownership of the KTP project
* Feedback to the project team and deliver the project in accordance with the project plan and KTP management requirements.
* Work in collaboration to ensure smooth running of the overall KTP and outputs are tracked and delivered.
* Document progress in the project though the writing of technical reports and completion of KTP records
* Present research output to a varied audience including industrial scientists, industrial management, University academics and KTP leadership.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications:
* Applicants should have a recent Phd Chemistry, MChem (graduation within the last 5 years), or a recent BSc(Hons) in chemistry (at 2:1 or above) with either an appropriate MSc qualification or significant relevant experience through graduate employment, placement, internship or dissertation topic. A good BSc (Hons) qualification may be considered if accompanied by strong physical and analytical chemistry experience gained through either University project work or work experience.
