VMware invests for the future in VMware’s Global Sales and Services Organization through the VMware Academy (VA) which is a global development program that is designed to fast track new graduates from in-depth training into successful careers within the Worldwide Sales and Services organization. As a part of VMware Academy, you will begin your journey by being immersed in 6 weeks of collaborative training known as Foundation (classroom) in Cork, Ireland. The academy involves sales, technical and product training for all participants. Upon completion of Foundation training, you will return to your home office and move into Role Based (on-the-job) training over the course of 4-6 months depending on role and location. During your Role Based training you will continue to develop your skills and product knowledge while creating meaningful mentor relationships that will ignite your career. After Role Based training, you will have completed Academy and transition into your role and business unit. Job Role and Responsibilities:

The Associate Systems Engineer (ASE) is a key part of VMware's Global Account program and will grow to support the VMware Sales teams on the largest customers in Europe. In this technical role you will gain a thorough understanding of VMware technologies in virtualisation, hybrid cloud and digital workspace. The ASE will be responsible for interacting with our top customers and account teams to solve technical pre-sales questions, identifying opportunities and identifying issues that may affect customer satisfaction or revenue attainment. The role requires an understanding of server change, configuration, and compliance management, application discovery, provisioning and VMware virtualization and application technologies. The ASE requires the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences. Upon joining the company, you will go through a structured, formal training program, building a basic level of VMware and industry knowledge. ASEs will shadow Global Solution Consultants, SEs and Technical Specialists, reinforcing and putting into practice the acquired knowledge.

Required Skills:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any university degree that includes Computing
  • Strong understanding of cloud or virtualization technologies
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage several tasks at once and succeed in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent social and communication skills
  • High interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team and customer-facing environment
  • A strong desire and love of technology

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands on IT experience from either Internships, Co-Ops, Work Experience or University Projects
  • Technical knowledge of or prior experience using VMware products is desirable but not mandatory
