Job Description

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity dedicated to diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure. Backed by our passionate scientists and supporters, we’re challenging the way people think about dementia, bringing together the people and organisations who can speed up progress, and investing in research to make life-changing breakthroughs possible.

We’re looking for a driven individual who is eager to join a hard-working and ambitious direct marketing team. As the fastest growing medical research charity in the UK, we’re proud that the Direct Marketing team is continuing to produce highly successful campaigns, not only driving income, but forging long-lasting and meaningful relationships with supporters and donors. The role of Executive in the Direct Marketing team is a varied one and ideal for someone who is new to marketing or fundraising. Fundraising experience is not essential for this role but we are looking for someone with the passion to change the future for those affected by dementia.

Working with different teams across the charity, you’ll be supporting and delivering direct marketing campaigns across a range of media including direct mail, e-mail, telemarketing and prize led fundraising. Activities in the retention and development portfolio are diverse, ranging from cash appeals to impact reporting and supporter engagement pieces. Together, these activities drive income and create strong relationships with our supporters.

As well as providing day to day and administrative support, the post holder will be completing sector and competitor analysis, helping to inform a test and innovation plan for the retention and development programme. Alongside this, they will be required to liaise with designers, printers, mailing houses and creative agencies; helping to ensure that work is delivered on time and to budget.

The successful candidate will have a desire to learn and develop, as well as the confidence to whole-heartedly launch themselves into an energetic team with ambitious goals.

You’ll be part of a team that works across a multitude of channels; speaking to range of audiences with one theme in common - compelling people to support our work and bring about the first life-changing dementia treatment.

Location: Granta Park, near Cambridge.

Salary: Circa £21,000 per annum, plus benefits

The closing date for applications is the 27th November 2018, with interviews to be held on the 6th December 2018. Please indicate in your cover letter if you are unable to attend on these dates.
