As an Operational Technology (OT) Specialist Graduate based within Scottish Water’s Intelligent Control Centre (ICC) you’ll be contributing to the success and continued growth of one of Scotland’s most critical businesses.

Joining us in September 2019, you'll have the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and experience learned to date on a wide variety of Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) including Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory, Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Telemetry and a range of OT applications, equipment and tools absolutely essential to ensure the performance of our assets are monitored and capable of remote intervention on a 24/7/365 basis.

The recent introduction of new regulations associated with Network and Information Systems are aimed at protecting against a range of Cyber-Security threats, which have increased significantly across a range of sectors over the last few years. A key aspect of this role will support the deployment, maintenance and on-going improvement in cyber security, governance and overall resilience across Scottish Water(SW) operational asset base where a dependency on OT systems is essential to maintain an effective, productive and resilient customer service.

You’ll learn about the vital role our ICC and field based teams play in protecting SW customer service and the dependency on OT systems to support the protection of the service to our customers. You will have the opportunity to support the development and improvement in areas from our standards and specifications, delivery into service of new OT systems and influence future investment planning decisions and business plans to ensure technology delivers true customer and operational value.

Placements within a number of key stakeholder teams during your two year programme will allow you to challenge yourself and colleagues as we are looking for Graduates who have the determination to succeed add value and become our future subject matter experts and leaders.

To be successful you must share our passion for delivering great customer service and you will have a minimum 2:2 (or be on track to achieve a minimum 2:2) degree or postgraduate qualification associated with IACS or Electrical and Electronic engineering discipline. You will have excellent analytical skills and you’ll be ready to engage fully in the development opportunities that are available to you.

You’ll be given the chance to stretch yourself in placements across the business and across Scotland too... by being flexible in your thinking and sometimes in your location. We also have a growing international business which means there may even be some fantastic opportunities for you to work on projects abroad.
