Street League work with young people, progressing them into employment, education and training by engaging them through football, fitness and dance fitness. We specialise in helping our participants (16-24 years’ olds from disadvantaged areas) progress from our unique sport/fitness and education programmes into sustainable employment, education and training.
We are a growing organisation and currently operate across the UK in 14 regions, including Greater London, the North East and North West of England, West Midlands, Yorkshire and across Scotland.
We are recruiting a Functional Skills Tutor who will be responsible for planning, delivering and developing our functional skills curriculum (Maths and English) for our participants, progressing them from their initial assessment level to at least one level higher as part of Street League’s Academy programme, which lasts 10-20 weeks. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring that young people are retained on our course and achieve their functional skills qualifications.
Experience of planning, developing and delivering Functional Skills up to Level 2 in either Maths or English (ideally both) is essential, plus a teaching qualification. Experience in working with our client group is desirable plus an appropriate assessor qualification. The post-holder may be recently qualified or looking for a move out of mainstream education. Street League offers a dynamic and flexible work environment with high job satisfaction in helping to change the lives of the young people we work with.
