The RoleWe’re busy installing smart meters for our customers and this means we need to develop our supply chain capability to ensure we have sufficient number of meters and components nationally.
As a Store Person you’ll be a key member of our Metering Supply Chain Team, working closely with various teams such as Field Operations, Supply Chain Operations and Logistics to ensure both Smart and Heritage stock is available for our meter operatives at all times.
You’ll pick, pack and deliver stock to operatives as well as conducting audits in line with company policies.
You’ll maintain safe working practices in respect of manual handling and you’ll make day to day decisions regarding the efficient operation of Metering stores. Furthermore, you’ll track assets and cover FM duties where necessary.
Your Skills and ExperienceThe successful candidate should have a good understanding of stock control principles. You should be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, reporting and raising risks or challenges to managers where necessary.
You’ll work unsupervised at times and therefore should be well-organised, self-motivated and enjoy working under pressure and to tight timescales.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to build good working relationships will be paramount.
You’ll need to travel so a full UK driving licence is essential. In addition, some flexibility in your working hours will be necessary such as working off-peak times to minimise disruption to operations.
