Person Specification
You will be a secure graduate who has achieved a 2:1 or above in your degree and previous experience supporting children. Ideally, the school need a graduate who is able to display a genuine interest in Special Educational Needs that transfers into passion and enthusiasm when working in this area. The school want to meet applicants who have the clear ambition to teach and a desire to kick-start their career as early as possible. You will have the ability to forge relationships quickly and inspire those around you.

About the Role
At this accessible school, as a KS1 Teaching Assistant you will be supporting general classes in KS1. You will help the teacher plan a variety of lessons, making each one fun and engaging whilst ensuring that it is accessible for pupils of all abilities. Day-to-day, you will be getting to know the best approaches by assisting teachers and enrolling in a series of training and continued professional development programs. You will have the opportunity to teach classes of your own once you feel confident enough with your teaching skills. You will quickly learn that the Special Educational Needs Coordinator truly values your support, and will guide you throughout the placement in return. In this post you will be preparing for and challenges you might face in the classroom by learning the best approach from an accomplished Senior Teacher who has already seen several graduates succeed in their PGCEs. Part of your role will include aiding the development of students through 1:1 and group sessions outside of the classroom environment.
