Pay rate: BAND 5

Working in partnership with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation trust, we are looking for dedicated and passionate General Theatre Nurses/Practitioners, who want to work for a forward thinking Trust, focused on delivering compassionate care. Working for OUH Bank if fully flexible, you can work from one shift per month to full time hours, we have shifts available to accommodate and we pay weekly! In addition to this, you can also accrue holiday and contribute to our NHSP Stakeholder Pension Scheme. Surgical services at OUH are a key part to the delivery of high quality critical and clinical care by the trust. Working on a variety of both general and specialist surgeries, this is a fantastic opportunity to join the bank to support a team of skilled and dedicated professionals within their field.

The post holder should be able to:

  • To be aware of the management of drugs and to adhere to local policies and administer drugs as required
  • Work within the guidelines of NMC and HCPC Codes of Practice (depending on registration)
  • Plan and prepare equipment according to patients needs/procedures
  • Monitor and assess patient’s condition, responding to any changes as required
  • Direct/participate in the manoeuvring and the positioning of conscious and unconscious patients
  • Handover and transferring responsibility of care to colleagues – relaying importing information
  • Supporting and re-assessing patients and relatives/carers during perioperative procedures
  • Implement and evaluate care plans
  • Maintain accurate patient and theatre records
  • Supervise and mentor junior grades, including delegation of patient care to members of staff with an appropriate level of skill
  • Lead a team when required, ensuring a high standard of patient care is delivered
  • Monitor/order stock and supplies, rotating stock as necessary
In order to apply for a post you must have a minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role held within the last 2 years and h old NMC Registered Nurse (RN1) qualification/Be a Registered ODP with HCPC.
