Running during the 2019/20 academic year, our internship offers talented undergraduates the opportunity to put your theoretical knowledge into practice and gain crucial industry experience.
Principality recognises the importance of supporting talented undergraduates and we do this through offering an exciting internship that acts as a sandwich placement for those wanting to add industry and work experience to their educational programme. The skills, knowledge and experience you gain will benefit your future studies and improve your chances of a future role at Principality.
You’ll work alongside experienced professionals doing real work helping solve one of the biggest risks facing businesses today to ensure that robust, appropriate and effective security systems, procedures and controls are in place and maintained across the Society. That could be researching emerging technologies, reviewing threat intelligence, analysing security events and much more.
You will be working across a variety of teams and projects addressing a diverse range of security challenges. You will be expected to support and contribute to existing activities whilst working on individual assignments across threat modelling, risk analysis, data correlation, security operations, incident management and technical assurance.
The role will require a candidate who is passionate and determined, who is able to learn quickly with a technical focus.
Start date: 1st July 2019
Duration: 12 Months
What you will need
• You will be studying for a relevant degree (ideally in Cyber Security, Computer Security or Forensics)
• You will need to be on course for a 2.1 degree or above
• You will have an understanding of IT networks, systems and infrastructure
• You will be highly motivated
• Experience of penetration testing or programming in Java, Python is advantageous but not essential
