Role Title: Engineer Internship
Level (Jr./Sr.): Jr
Reports To: Associate Director, Service
Period: 3 months with potential to become permanent
Position Summary
This will be a great opportunity to gain exposure to the FinTech industry. The Engineer Intern will be working in both a lightly technical and business savvy arena, delivering first class service and technical support to the company's clients, through the highest standards of customer service, efficiency, knowledge and integrity. The candidate will interface with high profile financial industry clients daily thus requiring a proven level of presentation, communication and professionalism.
* Builds rapport and elicit problem details from Support Desk customers
* Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriate team
* Applies diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting
* Follows document procedure to troubleshoot, triage and resolve issues
* Identifies and learn appropriate software and hardware used and support by the organization
* Tests fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved
* Performs post-resolution follow-ups to help requests
* Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
* Strong, professional written and oral communication skills
* Good interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills
* Experience with documentation processes and procedures
* Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
* Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
* Highly self-motivated and directed
* Sharp attention to detail
* Capable of multitasking in a high pace environment, effectively and efficiently
* Good customer service orientation
* Ability to demonstrate client sensitivity
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Technical Requirements
Experience is not required but preferred:
* Familiarity with internet connectivity issues
* Familiarity with navigating the internet through various browsers
* Building and/or relocating users PC’s
* Comm Room cleanups
* Reinstalling Operating Systems and all appropriate drivers
* Microsoft Windows 7/8/10, Microsoft Office 2007-2016
* Familiarity with various malware and anti-spyware tools
* Troubleshooting Desktops/Laptops/Mobile devices/Printers/Fax Machines/Scanners/Copiers
Working Conditions
* Ability to work in an independent environment with moderate supervision
* Ability to work under a moderate noise level (i.e. working on an open floor with printers, telephones, and computers)
* Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines (including late nights and weekends)
* Ability to travel for business and work beyond normal business hours when necessary
* Ability to be flexible and successfully respond to multiple work pressures
* Sitting for extended periods of time
* Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components
* Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
