A vacancy has risen for a Band 6 midwife to join our established dynamic and forward thinking service. The candidate will be a highly motivated practitioner with a vision to support women with complex social needs and mental health concerns through their pregnancy, birth and postnatal period. The post holder will be part of a team of midwives who are highly trained to providing high quality and streamlined specialised care for mothers with perinatal mental health and complex needs.
The complex care midwife plays a crucial role in improving the quality of maternity services and supporting the development and implementation of integrated pathways of care for women with perinatal mental illness. They are a critical part of multiagency perinatal mental health clinical pathways.
The role requires knowledge experience of maternity services as well as excellent organisational and communication skills
The post holder must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, be a caring and compassionate individual focused on providing excellent quality patient care, working within the values held by West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust which provides acute healthcare services to a population of approximately half a million people living in West Hertfordshire and the surrounding area.
The Trust also provides a range of more specialist services to a wider population of residents in North London, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and East Hertfordshire.
