To continue our growth and success we have created our inaugural Graduate Accountancy Training Programme which will take place in our Finance Shared Service Centre. There are 2 positions available for graduates who are keen to get fast track in Finance and thrive in this hands on and challenging environment.

The Role

The Hays Finance function provides financial support and partners with the operations recruitment business to offer a world class service to clients and candidates alike. The graduate trainees will have the opportunity to gain experience in every sector of the Shared Service Centre. You will be expected to provide MI analysis to corporate clients as well as deliver financial and management accounting. You will have the opportunity to work closely with operations providing financial decision support. It is essential to become an expert in business and operational practices whilst working closely with colleagues and management to develop, learn and and use them in conjunction with the Hays vision. Over the 3 years you will develop a sound knowledge of accounting practices whilst building your experience and gaining your qualification.

The Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) were you will be based is a busy head office with 220 finance colleagues. Our UK business includes 100 offices and over 2,200 consultants.

To give you an example of the scale of our operations, in the FSSC, we invoice over 9,000 clients each 4 week period and the temp payroll department processes and pays the 26,000 timesheets submitted by temporary workers every week.

What you will do

Over the 3 years you will develop a sound knowledge of accounting practices whilst building your experience and gaining your ACA qualification.

The graduate scheme is extremely varied as over the 3 year scheme, whilst focusing on finance, you will have multiple rotations across the business in areas such as:

  • Financial Accounts
  • Management Accounts
  • Internal Audit
  • Group Finance
  • Investor Relations
  • Payroll
  • Credit Control
  • Billing
  • Process Improvement

You will be fast tracking your career to becoming a finance leader.

The support network for you as a graduate is excellent, as you will have a mentor and other graduates in the scheme. Training Hays places great importance on the development of our staff and your training will be structured when you cover your multiple rotations. We are also offering support to complete your ACA qualification. This includes funding for your exams, materials and tutorial sessions as well as up to 40 days study leave over the 3 years you are training and studying with Hays.

About you

We are looking for a motivated, talented graduate of 2018/19 with strong analytical and numerical skills including A level Math’s (Grade B or above), educated to degree level with a minimum 2.1 degree (a financial background would be advantageous but this is not essential).

You must be articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills, ambitious and driven, and possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. No experience necessary as full training and development will be provided.
