Band 8a Clinical Psychologist

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated professional to work as a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist within the Learning Disability Service. The vacancy is within the East Learning Disability Community Health Team which covers both Crewe and Macclesfield areas.
The post holder will have a high level of clinical expertise particularly in the field of behaviour that challenges, and be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary Community Team. They will be expected to work as an autonomous practitioner with responsibility for management of a specific caseload. The post holder would need to demonstrate that they are a confident person centred practitioner, and have a proven track record in supporting people with complex needs particularly those with behaviours that challenge.
The post holder will be an excellent communicator, have good time management skills and demonstrate a willingness to be an effective and robust team player. They will also need to demonstrate an ability to work across a range of health and social care settings with a clear emphasis on the development and training of others. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development especially within the field of behaviour that challenges, and will be expected to provide clinical supervision to junior colleagues within the team.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly including evenings and weekends when required.
The post holder will also be required to be able to travel as part of their role.
The post is temporary for 10 months to cover maternity leave.
