Our client is part of a global organisation, the world’s second largest manufacturer and supplier of construction and mining equipment.
They are based on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne and were established in 1985. The Company employs approximately 450 people who are engaged in the design and manufacture of medium-sized hydraulic excavators.
They now have an exciting opportunity for motivated graduate-calibre Engineer’s to join the Production Engineering Team. The Production Engineering Department is responsible for supporting all of the manufacturing processes which includes Fabrication, Assembly and Paint. The team is heavily involved in new model introduction, the purchase and installation of new equipment and process/efficiency improvements to ensure a smooth production process.
The successful candidate will follow a structured two-year training programme within the Production Engineering Department, to learn how to:
improve efficiency in the manufacturing processes by introducing effective financially viable improvements;
- support new model introduction;
- provide production support for the manufacturing areas of Fabrication, Assembly, Paint and Logistics;
- purchase and install plant and equipment that will perform efficiently and safely and will minimise the effect on the environment;
- prepare material to ensure manufacturing have information to support Komatsu Engineering and Quality standards and support investigations into quality defects;
- actively participate in project teams.
On successful completion of training, you will become a Production Engineer responsible for supporting one or more of the Manufacturing Departments.
They are looking for candidates with an honours degree at a minimum level of a 2:2 in Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent with excellent numerical and IT skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
