The Citrix Hypervisor Engineering group invites candidates to apply for a Software Engineering post on the Performance R&D team in Cambridge.
Citrix Hypervisor is the server virtualisation product built on top of the Xen hypervisor. It is widely used in datacentres, from small companies right up to the largest cloud providers. Originally a start-up spun out from the University of Cambridge, we are now based in Citrix's modern Research and Development centre on the Cambridge Science Park.
The Performance team works on optimising whole-system performance by identifying bottlenecks and developing improvements to remove them. It is a development team with a strong research focus, and involves interactions with all the other engineering teams and components (e.g., storage and data path, Windows virtual machines, orchestration, and low-level components such as the kernel and the hypervisor).
We are seeking a software engineer with a good understanding of software development and optimisation at a system level. Experience in a system performance role is valuable, but not strictly necessary. Other valuable skills include a background in design of experiments, knowledge of statistical methods, and modelling and analysis of complex systems.
