About the programme
On this two-year programme you’ll learn everything there is to know about Parcelforce Worldwide (PFW) and how the different functions link to the wider GLS function and Royal Mail business. And to give you a well-rounded perspective, you’ll complete three different placements in PFW Operations, Commercial and Sales and Customer Services.
In PFW Operations you’ll gain an understanding of the in-depth workings of the operational pipelines and work on options for sorting and moving parcels around the country according to a number of different scenarios. Working with a project manager to deliver a business continuity plan for processing, you’ll learn the fundamentals of project management and to model using capacity, parcel flows and vehicle movements. Core skills that can be used in many continuity situations. You’ll then move on to working with an Operational manager to devise a strategy for future scanning in the processing function. How can we use technology to shape the operation and improve efficiency? New ideas will need to be investigated giving you an understanding of how to justify any investment.
It’s all change with a move to the PFW Commercial team. Here the focus is to gain a practical insight into the development of new products and services. You’ll experience developing propositions to support a launch and build and develop sales pipelines. Working closely with sales to build relationships across PFW functions gives you the chance to consolidate your learning and how to deliver results.
Sales and Customers Services offers a project placement where a range of action plans need to be developed and implemented to ensure we maximise on revenue opportunities and meet service expectations.
We’ll give you hands-on responsibility from the moment you start, as well as formal leadership development. Our highly experienced managers will set you performance goals and while we expect you to use your initiative and champion your own development, you’ll also be supported by a buddy, mentor and people partners to build a successful career at the top of our business.
Graduates are located with the team in Milton Keynes and Coventry and, you need to relocate, we offer some financial support and time off to move as part of our relocation policy.
